The Ford F-Series of light and medium-duty trucks has been a hit with drivers ever since its introduction in 1948. Over many decades of retooling, reinvention, and exciting new models, the F-Series has stayed true to its original commitment of providing the average consumer with vehicles that are both powerful and pleasant to drive.
This week, we’re going to be taking a look at one of the most exciting of the current F-Series line, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew, which is already getting rave reviews and is one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles soon to arrive at our Indianapolis Ford dealership.
Anticipation Grows for the Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew
There were a lot of vehicles on display at the latest Detroit motor show, but none received as much positive attention as the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew. Previous iterations of the F-150 Raptor were popular with both drivers and critics, but, even when measured against the model’s previous acclaim, the positive buzz around the 2017 version of the Ford F-150 Raptor is striking.
One of the aspects of the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew that drew much attention was the updated and improved chassis. While the 2017 Raptor’s chassis does bear many similarities to the acclaimed version seen on previous F-150 models, Ford has made several important changes that promise to make the newest version of the Raptor even more impressive than its predecessors, in terms of both appearance and performance.
As noted by Hot Rod Network,
“Ford has gone to great lengths to push the F-150’s design to the forefront of the industry from both a mechanical and technological standpoint, and those efforts pay off handsomely…”[i]
Going into further detail, reports say that the 2017 Raptor SuperCrew is an improvement in both performance and strength, while also being lighter and more visually appealing.
Improvements have been made to everything from the engine (Ford’s 3.5-liter, twin turbocharged EcoBoost V6, replacing the previous models’ 6.2-liter V8), the body (unlike previous models, the 2017 Raptor’s body is made entirely of aluminum, making it a full 50 pounds lighter than previous versions), horsepower, and power output (increased to 450 and 510 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm).
The improvements to the 2017 F-150 Raptor aren’t just on the outside, either. Inside, you’ll find a magnesium steering wheel with mounted paddle shifters, deeply bolstered sports seats in the front of the cabin, and amenities like GPS and a modern sound system that still fit with the vehicle’s classic, stark overall look.
The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew is releasing soon, and Ford is already taking orders for this much-acclaimed new truck. If you want to get your hands on one, make sure to contact your local dealership soon. Not ready to buy just yet? Be sure to schedule a test drive ASAP.
